Working principle and protection measures of oil and gas separator

1. The role of the oil and gas separator is to separate the air compressor lubricating oil from the oil and gas mixture, and then the oil and gas mixture through the three separation processes of centrifugal separation, gravity separation and fiber separation, and basically 90% of the oil can be separated. Separation process: The oil and gas mixture enters the oil tank along the tangential direction of the outer wall of the oil and gas separator. Most of the oil is separated by centrifugation, and the rest of the oil sticks to the outer wall of the oil and gas separator and is separated by gravity. A little part of the oil enters the inside of the oil and gas separator for fiber separation, and then is pressed back into the screw cavity through the return pipe.

2. the gasket of the oil and gas separator is conductive. As air and oil pass through the glass fiber, static electricity is generated between the two separating layers. If both metal layers are charged with static electricity, there is a risk of an electric spark. Gaskets are used to seal the oil separator core and the air receiver. Good oil and gas separator parts can ensure the electrical conductivity between the separator core and the air receiver housing, which can ensure that all static electricity can be exported in time to prevent the generation of electric sparks.

3. The adaptability of the oil and gas separator to the pressure difference will affect the whole machine or make the separator core completely damaged. When the pressure difference of oil and gas separator core increases by 0.1MPa, the total power consumption of motor will increase by 7%. High pressure drop in the oil and gas separator will cause the separator fire. The pressure difference may be too large for the following four reasons: oil separator dirty blockage, air countercurrent, internal pressure fluctuation, oil and gas separator core inferior.

4. The metal of the oil and gas separator is electroplated and will not be corroded. According to the ambient temperature, humidity, and working conditions of the air compressor, condensate may form inside the oil and gas separator. If the oil and gas separator is not electroplated, it will form a corrosion layer, destroy the antioxidants of air compressor oil, reduce the service life and the flash point of oil.

5. The accumulation or wear of dust, residual oil and air pollutants will reduce the service life of the oil and gas separator. (1) The air filter and oil filter can be replaced in time to avoid dust entering the air compressor oil. ② Use the correct anti-aging and waterproof lubricating oil.
